There is no dearth of self-help, personality development books in the market. I have read many and reviewed a few out of them on my blog. Lot of times the actual message gets lost amidst the examples and case studies. Some become hard to read as you progress into the book. Others might be too much verbose, small fonts which makes it hard to read faster. No doubt there are lot of best sellers in this genre.
This specific book: “The little book of good things” by Bhavya Doshi caught my attention due to its lively cover page. The back of the book mentioned: “It presents a collection of beautiful and minimal doodles along with an accompanying narrative…”. It made me more curious to read this book. I was particular to get a printed copy and not the Kindle version.
Each chapter contains a message beautifully written, short and to the point. It is accompanied by a beautiful doodle/art which is drawn to be relevant to the chapter. Very colorful and lively book. I really enjoyed reading this book and finished it in a day and half. Once you pick this book you will never feel like putting it down.
The content is nothing new, you would have read it multiple times in each and every self-help book. It is presented in a very simple way with each chapter having:
- an apt title to summarize the problem.
- explanation to the problem.
- solution to the problem.
These are the things I really want to incorporate:
- creating a gratitude bowl
- maintaining a gratitude journal
I would highly recommend this book. If you dont have habit of reading you can pick this book to develop a reading habit.
You can buy this book from Amazon.in or visit the book website to find out other places to buy from.
